Art was my favourite subject at school, but what I ended up with was a degree in biochemistry and another in biophysics. Most of my working life was spent in DNA research labs, first  at the University of Oxford, and then, after we moved to NZ in 1983, at the University of Otago.

I started painting again in 1998, when I went along to a watercolour class at the student union. I joined the Art Society in 2000, and was pleased to be accepted as an artist member two years later. When I left my last job (in 2010)  I decided to go back to school (Kings High) to study art. I am currently attending advanced print-making classes at the Dunedin School of Art.
